I have a 40 gallon tank and the inhabitants are:
1 timid 3′ Black Ghost Knife Fish (it is pretty hard to feed him)
6 small-medium clown loaches
5 neon tetras
4 mollies (these guys are pigs)
2 danios
1 albino cory
1 pleco
I also have 4 snails and 7 ghost shrimp in the tank, possibly less ghost shrimp if they got eaten.
I’m thinking about changing my feeding reigment to once a day and giving 3-4 pinches of flakes, 1 small pinch of freeze-dried brine shrimp, 1 small pinch of dried krill, and 2 cubes of blood worms.
I am completely open to any and all suggestions, and can make a trip to Pet Co. later to pick up any additional supplies.
Thank you!
Uhh… I hardly have 25 inches in my tank.
If any of my fish grow larger I will consider upgrading, but thanks for the advice, everyone.
Tropical fish flakes should be just fine.
you have a plain old community fish tank ,, really any generic flake food would do..I would suggest to take caution to not OVER FEED!
for the knife fish,, have some kinda of tube for him to hang out in.. then get some frozen brine , take it right down to him in his tube,, they can be finicky!
PS. I don’t think you have too many fish,, I do question why 6 clowns.. ,, now if they all live to full size it would get crowded, you should put better planing into you fish selection..
fish that dwell at the top..
fish that are all over swimmers
hiders
and bottom feeders..
you have like 8 bottom feeders.. spread it out a bit!
You have too much fish in your tank- that equals up to like, 97 inches of fish in a 40 gallon tank!!!!!!!
You sadly went WAY over the fish limit, because clown loaches grow up to like, 10 inches long!!!! There are also a lot of other problems of fish sizes in your tank.
Please, please, please, find a way to save those poor fish!!!!
Thanks.
P.S. That’s a lot of food, I don’t think you should feed them that much……..
any type of flake food
I feed my fish flake food every other day. Make sure u don’t feed them alot. If fish could eat all dyy they would. They love 2 eat. What thy don’t eat take it out. Feed them alot can cause alot of problems.
