They do let me pet them and they greet me every morning for me to hand feed them. Mine are both reds as well , and one is names Inu which means dog in Japanese lol and the other is frank. I attempted to feed the pair ghost shrimp awhile ago but now they have just multiplied. I don't think my fishies can see them or something because they idly drifted by them... maybe they don't eat those... They live with this giant suckerfish who I have no idea what it is (eight inches long and black) so there's not many other fish in there. Awhile ago they got an infection in their gills but melafix solved that. Thankfully. they won't reaaky let you pet them until later on. Give it another month or so. Try bribing them to come to the surface for a week and just start out by sort of poking their heads. They get used to it lol. I'm glad you enjoy these awesome fish as much as I do!
