Ok. I have set up a pretty good size tank for 2 small koi. Yes, i know koi are pond fish… There in a big tank that my friend gave me i think she said it was a 50 gal.either ay they are about 3 inch’s long(just babies) and they will be moved to a pond once they get bigger. I just live in a area where… well little critters run free alot. seen a what looked like a coyote coming home last night. Either way, he wants a turtle And I told him I would check and see if koi and turtles were ok together if the were and he wanted to buy the dock, food, and the turtle of coarse he could get him/her. So, are koi and red ears ok together? If not is there a turtle that can live with them.
P.S. i have had turtles before, and other reptiles and have most everything for one… So I have supplies and knowledge. I just mostly keep pet away from each other.
Dont worry about the live food, I have crickets and can get itty bitty goldfish for him
I don’t think that I would put them together. Even though they can live on turtle food alone, they still like the hunt of live food. Especially in captive turtles.
Yes, they can. But it’s not really recommended because they have different food and you can’t let them eat the food that’s not theres. Turtles won’t attack koi, koi won’t attack turtles. But again, it’s not recommended. I suggest you get a small-medium sized glass tank for the turtle.
then get him a fuckin turtle
No, the koi and a turtle would not be fine together. Turtles EAT fish. If you get a baby it might take awhile, but eventually, those koi will be a snack. Most turtles will not be able to go into a tank with koi, as they will most likely eat them. There are very few that will not be interested in eating fish, but they are omnivores, there’s no way to safely tell if one turtle will not eat your koi.
