i have a dog and fish. i have always wanted a chinchilla. i’ve waited a long time to make sure it wasn’t just a spur of the moment decision. i’m 14, have enough money to cover the cost of vets, chinchilla supplies, and any extra fees. i know i can take care of it, and my mom doesn’t exactly have a strong point as to why not. i’ve taken care of my dog for a year. i have the space and room for a chinchilla. i know it’s a big responsibility and the chinchilla will live for a long time. i have done my research and feel i am fully prepared for a chinchilla. any advicce on how to convince my mom to get let me pay for one?

show her the research you have done, and educate her on the chinchilla’s lifestyle and how you will take care of it. explain to her that you are willing to pay for all the supplies and any veterinary care. just remind her that you are responsible and have been thinking about this for a long time, and ask her what her reservations to you getting one are. If she can give you a good reason, resolve the issue.
Good Luck!
you got bored of Dog and Fish now you want a chiuaua. you will get Board of it too!! shame on you!! bad bad bad
make understand what you want like i did with my mom now i have a dog she didn’t want it at first, but know she loves it.be good and help her do stuff around your house that’s how i got it.
Well, its your mom’s house so ultimately, her rules go but when I was young I put together a powerpoint presentation listing all the reasons why I should be allowed to get a kitten. I had researched everything and convinced my father that I was knowledgable, realistic and responsible enough to care for a cat on my own. If you’re willing to cover vet and food bills, thats great! Its a huge load off your mom. Thats a huge argument in your favor. And it sounds like you would be very capable of taking care of this animal. Talk it out with her- she’s bound to see how mature you are about it. Good luck!
You must love animals. Do you spend a lot of time with your dog? Does your mom ever have to ask you to feed/water, rake up the yard etc.? Is the fish tank always clean? I would bring that up to your mom. if your taking care of everyone else without being asked, then I don’t see any harm in doing so. Good luck.
Are you sure you have enough money?
It is VERY likely that your Chin will contract an illness sometime in its lifetime.
We recently spent $500 at the vet on one of our Chins.
Chins are a lot of work, money, and time. If you’re looking for a pet to play with…..a Chinchilla is definitely NOT for you.
