All fish should be in a filtered tank. If you are not willing or able to provide a filter for your fish, then I would respectfully suggest not getting fish.
Too many people simply "plop" their fish in bowls or unfiltered tanks. Rather than accepting blame for killing their fish through incredibly irresponsible and negligent behaviour, they convince themselves that fish have very short life spans, therefore filters are only necessary for "expensive" fish.
Again, ALL fish should have filtered tanks and a bowl is not an appropriate home for any living fish.
Yes, guppies need filters AND they require a heater. If you are not able to provide the most basic needs for your fish, please don’t get them.
Everytime I bough a Guppies out of W-M. They always died after like 2-3 days.
nope, i had guppies that lived in a tank that just had one of those bubble things. they lived for a couple of years.
My son keeps fish and his Guppies are in a big tank with filtration, he has always kept them. He breeds them .
No but yuppies do!! just kidding actually yes any fish is bettah off in filtered water. You can get away without a filter for goldfish they will handle dirty water better but you will need frequent water changes. Best go with a filter!! ps the more fish the bigger the filter you will need!
i think you can just put them in a fish bowl and they will be fine
you still have to clean their water though
not at all. You need some light, some plants, and some gravel. Add 1-2 guppies to the above, wait 10 days, then add 1-2 more each 10 days until you’ve got a small bunch. If you start slowly, take care of the plants (keep ‘em happy with light, and the fish do the rest), and don’t overfeed the fish, you don’t need filters. A little air stone will do nicely to circulate the water.
all fish need filters.
All fish need a filter to help remove the ammonia from the water that the food and the waste produce. So it can be removed properly,a filter is needed. Not having any filtration would be like swimming in septic tank.
You can have guppies in a tank without a filter, but if you do, then you need an airator. A filter actually acts like an airator. If you are looking for a setup with no filtration, I would go for betta and/or corydora catfish. You can keep a few female betta together in one tank, but males are loners. Corys and bettas can live together peacefully. You see, oxygen is dissolved in water and if the water sets out too long with fish breathing in it then all of the oxygen is used up and the fish die. Betta however can breathe air just like us from the surface, and so can corys. Whatever you end up doing, have fun and enjoy. Good luck…….Gup.
As funny as this may sound, the bigger the aquarium the less it needs cleaned. I have a 29 gallon that has a filter on it too small for the size, and with that and a big bubble wand, it basically adds air. I have 50-80 fish in this aquarium, with no real filter.
guppies don’t need filters they are very hardy and could survive any water condition. an aerator for them would be could but you do not necessarily need it………….
all livebearers don’t require filters……
it also depends on the kinds of food you feed them if the water gets too polluted always then that’s the time you should get one….=)
if you have any questions feel free to email me!=)
yes they have to be in a filter
