55 Gallon Fish Tank Setup Price?

I am hoping to move up to around a 55 gallon fish tank but it would be very helpful if I could get some prices for a new one, not a used one. I think its around 0 for just the fish tank at Petsmart, but I don’t really know the prices of it at other stores, like Pet Supplies Plus. Any other information or tips on buying a nice one will be helpful.
And if anyone reading has information about Red Blood Parrot Cichlids on keeping them or cool things about them please tell me.

Thanks

  1. Drake says:

$200 sounds ballpark for that size.
    $50+ for a filter.
    $40 for a heater
Probably another $30-$50 for gravel for the bottom of the tank
Hoods are spendy so you’re looking at probably another $50 there if your tank doesn’t come with one already.
And then fake plants or live? If live they can go from $4 to $10 depending on bunch, potted, variety etc. per plant. Fake are probably somewhere in that range also.
Tank rocks and what not go for $20 upwards for the bigger items. Even some of the small stuff can easily be $10 per item.
    $3 for a floating/sinking therometer.

You’re looking at possibly an easy $400 here. Another $100-$200 for a tank stand (depending on the style and features you like) if you don’t have one yet. And none of this counts for fish yet.

And I know nothing about Red Bloods. Sorry I can’t help you there ^_^

    Best of luck.
